It’s Guaranteed You Won’t Fall Asleep

by Jessica Hickok on May 5, 2010

I don’t often make guarantees.  However, I’m making an exception now for something work related because I can’t stand boring training classes, where all I want to do is lay my head down and take a nap.

The Donald and I have been teaching continuing education courses to real estate agents in the state of Missouri.  Most of the CE classes I have attended as a student, with the exception of a handful, have been real snooze-fests.  But it’s required that licensed Missouri real estate agents (affiliated with the REALTOR® Association or not) have to take 12 hours approved MREC continuing education classes.  Of these 12 hours, nine of them can be an elective course and the other three have to be a core course.  The core course is a subject that is determined by the MREC and instructors still have to submit their outlines for approval before they can teach the course and typically, these core classes are stronger than Ambien.

Anyone who has worked with us or taken one of our classes before, knows that there is a lot of energy that comes with our seminars and training sessions.  (And some of you are even aware that we have been known to bring cookies to our classes!)  However, not everyone does know us.  So, we have placed a “You-Won’t-Fall-Asleep” Guarantee in the advertising of our upcoming CE courses.  It is stated as follows:

We promise to keep you engaged during our classes to make acquiring your CE credit less of a chore.  Paul Dizmang and Jessica Hickok are active, real estate professionals that do the same thing you do everyday in listing and selling real estate.  So they understand that your time is valuable and want you to get the most out of your experience in attending their classes.

Just because the MREC rules don’t allow you text message, use your phone or laptop during class, doesn’t mean that you will be bored out of your mind.  We promise to keep you entertained and occupied learning the latest changes in real estate law and interacting with your peers and colleagues.  It’s a you-won’t-fall-asleep guarantee that we make, or you’ll get your money back.  However, if you do fall asleep, you won’t get your certificate at the end of the course, so keep in mind that it goes both ways.

So there you have it, a guarantee that is guaranteed to work.  If you are a Missouri real estate agent in need of your CE, come give it a try. You can register for upcoming classes here. I just hope the “guarantee” is a good idea and will encourage people to attend our classes because we promise not to be boring, even if the subject material might be.

I’ll sleep on it and let you know how it works.
