I have the same Honda Pilot with the same MFG year and with the same problem + the same lazy issue.
I now am glad that I decided to get on the web and first click at your link. Before this I opened the window controller and attempted to take it apart (I did took it apart until I hit the main board-stop because of ESD worry). I did just what you have described and it works. Yes, it works.
You have my two thumbs up.
