My Twitter & Facebook Are Breaking Up

FBTwitter2It’s no surprise to anyone reading this that I’m a Twitter junkie.  And for the longest time, I have had Twitter update my Facebook status so that they have always been matchy, matchy.  I have never gone into Facebook directly to update my status, I have just relied on my beloved Twitter to update Facebook.  I have done this using the Facbeook Twitter Application, but today my Twitter and Facebook have called it quits.

The reason for the break-up is that I have several conferences coming up, including a big one that I am co-presenting at in November.  Usually when I am at these conferences, I tend to ramble (being among my peeps), via Twitter.  And as you know, several tweets all in a row, you end up with a bad case of twitterhea.  And I’m just not so sure if I want to subject my Facebook friends to that kind of mess.

Nonetheless, I have installed Facebook’s Selective Twitter application.  FB Selective Twitter is nothing new, and it’s quite simple.  You can still update your FB status using Twitter, you just have to add the hashtag #fb.

Other than TweetDeck, Posterous and Selective Twitter…what other ways are there to update and keep it all simple?

I use friendfeed. They’ve just recently fixed their app so that everything pulls in properly.

    Twitter > Friendfeed > Facebook

    Anything > Friendfeed > Facebook

Facebook will group like posts, so in my case when I post several GReader items to friendfeed FB only shows the most recent one and says “X more like this.” No one’s complained as of yet.
