Transaction Desk Clutter

Desk ClutterTransaction Desk is the new transaction management platform that has been purchased and implemented by The Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS. The Board has asked me and Paul to do the individual training module classes (yeah, we are that good!). Everything that is included in this, is writing the training modules, writing/designing the marketing flyers, postcards, brochures and of course creating and maintaining a blog. In addition to these weekly training classes, we’re also working on a plan to launch online video tutorials and other big Transaction Desk training projects. So needless to say, it is a big project and I’m working on finding a way to keep the clutter to a minimum.

Overall, it’s been fun and I love working on developing big projects like this…but it is so hard to get organized! It is interesting how I usually pride myself on being organized and all of sudden I feel so unorganized. I have found all sorts of project management sources that have helped me get it all together. First, my Facebook To-Do List application. Granted, no one can see my list but me, but it helps to keep all my pending to-dos listed on the site that I visit everyday. But it is very handy that Facebook has an application for me to install right on to my profile. Second, there is a project management system within Entourage. Entourage is an Office for Mac program that I just got. It’s pretty helpful in keeping all the to-dos of this project in order. And being the Web 2.0 geek that I am, I also like my TaDa lists. Web 2.0 working for me, and I’m able to bring that feed into my Netvibes site, so I don’t have to physically go to the site, I just go to my Netvibes page and my organized mess is all right there. Kinda handy.

I’m a big fan of using RememberTheMilk for my todo list. Not does it have a netvibes module, but it also can be accessed via twitter!

Most of my todo’s have to do (ha, unintentional!) with personal stuff rather than work related. Having something that I can both access while I am not immediately in front of a pc, and yet still have access when I get to a pc was really the driving force of adopting that.
