Now The Ball is in Your Court

I have talked to many people and assisted them in setting up a blog. Now that the blog or the profile is set up, all they have to do is actually write a blog post (which is about as simple as point and click). As a self-appointed “web geek”, blogging is more Tennis Ballthan just a hobby for me, it’s becoming a job. And the effects of blogging are starting to payoff. I really think that when it is done right, you can make a lot of business contacts (money), increase search engine ratings (money), meet new people (money), be known as an “expert” in your field (money), and as you guessed it…make more money. However, there is no get-rich-quick-scheme here, it will take time. And it will take work. You will have to follow up with people that leave comments. You will have to promote your blog. {I’ve got a list of tips/ways to promote your blog, just ask me} You will have to actually post articles at least every few days if not every day. Most of all…you can’t rely on other people to blog for you, unless of course you’re paying them to do it for you. {Oohh! Pick me! Pay me! I will do it for you!} You can’t write one post every few months and expect a lot of traffic to come your way. You will have to read other people’s blogs on related topics and actually post of comment of your own to drive traffic back to your site. Now reading other people’s blogs is not a waste of time. Yes, it takes time, but you will learn stuff that is useful and engaging to you and your business in addition to driving traffic to your site. Blog often and keep your content fresh. If you’re too busy to blog, then accept your current search engine standings or hire someone to blog for you. {uh…I’m available.}
