Lightning Has Struck Twice

Lightning1And not the good lightning. My husband, Ty, is a wonderful man that has a lot of talent. I didn’t see this one coming, but the hurricane hit my poor husband in the way of the daily grind and this afternoon he lost his job due to the company closing. Back in June of 2006 (we’ll call it the “Wilma” era), Ty lost his job with MCI after 10 years of being there. MCI closed it’s office here in Springfield and luckily, he got hired with Bell Industries. He was employed with Bell Industries for just under a year, when in June of 2007 (bring on the start of our “Katrina”) Ty got hired to run the start of a new call center for an established travel company. Within 30 days of Ty’s new employment with the travel company, Bell Industries closed it’s doors. Whew! Dodged the bullet there. Things with the travel company were good, slow, but good. Ty was feeling really confident in his job when the owner came to him this afternoon and said the site had been struggling with bookings and now they were going to close their doors. How could lightning strike our family twice within 14 months?

I have to tell you though, I’m proud of my husband. There are not a lot of people that could take the 1, 2, Punch that he has taken and still be positive and calm about all of this.
